Ideology and Necessity

Most generally, an 'Ideology' is a system of ideas.  Since Marx, it has meant a particular system of ideas masquerading as universal, i. e. a system of ideas that promotes the interests of the ruling class.  However, one idea not only transcends particularization, it is fundamental to the efficacy of any Ideology, in the Marxist sense--Necessity.   For example, insofar as Necessity is predicated of Dialectical Materialism, its historical moments, including Revolution and the arrival of a Socialist state, become mandatory for those involved.  So, the physical force that is integral to his own doctrine is evidence that at least some elements of Ideology transcend Marx's attempt to particularize it.
