Nature, Maturation, Socialism

Growth is a characteristic of most organisms, and includes becoming larger and the development of abilities.  Now, one phase of Growth is Maturation, in which previously dependent beings become relatively independent.  So, the main features of the Marxist transition to Socialism, e. g. voluntariness, a diversification of experiences, etc., can be interpreted as a special case of Maturation.  Now, Growth is a natural principle, and, yet, Marx-Engels oppose "nature" to "voluntary" activity.  Consequently, their concept of Socialism is as non-natural as is any Idealist concept of a human ideal.
