Lumpenproletariat and Socialism

In some passages, Marx seems to ground his marginalization of the Lumpenproletariat on the principle that someone who is non-productive is not entitled to the sharing of the fruits of labor that Socialism affords.  However, it does not follow that an organ-grinder or a prostitute is not entitled to protection of Law from physical harm.  In other words, the marginalization of the Lumpenproletariat is, conversely, a circumscription of the scope of Socialism, which undermines one the fundamental tenets of Marxism--that Economics and Politics are related as Base to Superstructure, i. e. that all Political relations are determined by Economic ones.
