Alienation and Power

The essential structure of Capitalist exploitation is the gainful appropriation of the fruits of the labor of another in exchange for the market value of that labor.  Underlying that structure is the arrangement of working for another, which is constituted by the subordination of one's labor to the ends of another in exchange for a perhaps minimal satisfaction of one's own ends.  Thus, underlying the concept of the alienation of the fruits of one's labor is that of the alienation of one's labor.  Now, Labor is a purposeful mode of Action, and Action is an exercise of Power.  So, Capitalist exploitation is a process of disempowerment, and, therefore, the transition to Socialism is one of Empowerment.
