Lumpenproletariat and Organ-Grinder

Another member of Marx's Lumpenproletariat is the organ-grinder, once again ostensibly on grounds of non-productivity, but in this case, the arbitrariness of that criterion is a little more conspicuous.  For, Praxis per se, does not distinguish between purposeful and purposeless doing, so Practice does not inherently privilege productive action over non-productive action, e. g. a performance of an orchestra.  And yet, for Marxists, any Art is necessarily either reactionary or revolutionary, a thesis based on a concept of Art as purposeful.  So, the categorization of the organ-grinder as Lumpenproletarian is symptomatic of the reductionist convenience that that Class affords Marxism.
