Husband-Wife: Religion, Socialism, Technology

According to Marx-Engels, the subservience of Wife to Husband is "natural", though they offer no definition of that term.  In contrast, according to Genesis, it is not natural qua Edenic, but is part of the divine curse on the species.  Nevertheless, Religion in recent centuries has insisted upon it as if were itself a divine ordering, any deviation from which being what is sinful.  Now, presumably, though it is not explicitly addressed, the abolition of Private Property in Socialism applies to the Husband-Wife relation.  Still, well beyond the anticipation of Marx-Engels has been the liberation of women, Wife or not, via Technology, e. g. in vitro fertilization.
