Leadership and Empowerment

By setting an example, a Leader demonstrates to a Follower something that can be done, and, in the process, how it is done. In other words, a Leader can empower a Follower.  Accordingly, a Leader can strengthen a Political body in a way that no mere ruler can.

  1. yes, but aren't leaders and followers joined in a symbiotic relationship of mutual dependency?

    1. If you mean by "dependent", that a leader cannot carry out a project alone, sure. But, if that connotes some a priori Ontological or Psychological condition, the mutual voluntariness of the relation precedes any acceptance of reliance, in either direction.

    3. Now, if the mutuality that you have in mind is that of empowerment, my focus here on the strengthening of the Follower is to highlight what is deficient in Nietzsche's estimation of maximum empowerment, and, therefore, is deficient in the Oligarchical pattern that he privileges.
